Over the course of three months, I photographed drag queens in Philadelphia to show who drag queens are as people. In society, there are many assumptions about drag queens – they're freaks, they're campy and clownish, or they want to be women. In fact, drag is a form of entertainment and an art form.
I sought to document the processes of how they transform themselves into their drag personas and how that plays into their performances. All of the queens were loving the attention and I couldn't be happier with the outcome.
